INFORMATION FOR DENTISTS AND DENTAL
HYGIENISTS
Optimal
scaling and surface cleaning
To encourage patients to take up the
LyreJet® rapidly, dental surgeons are
advised to adopt the following procedure to
eliminate all interproximal tartar.
Stage 1 -
Ultrasound
Suggested equipment : Siemens or similar
ultrasound probe No. 3 or 4. Areas to be
treated: supragingival, juxtagingival and
intrasulcular vestibular, lingual, mesial
and distal surfaces.
Stage 2 -
Curette
Suggested equipment: LM Dental "Micro
Sickle" syntette curette or equivalent.
Areas to be treated: as for stage 1.
Stage 3 -
Bicarbonate air-polisher
Suggested equipment: Airflow S1 EMS or
equivalent. Areas to be treated: as for
stage 1.
Stage 4 -
Stripping if necessary
This stage completes scaling of the most
inaccessible areas, particularly immediately
below the points of contact where the
instruments used in stages 1 and 2 are
ineffective.
Suggested equipment : Extra-fine grain-size
diamond strips such as GC New Metal Strips,
grain size 1,000 (yellow) width 2.6 mm,
length 133 mm, thickness 50 microns. Areas
to be treated: under the contact points and
on mesial and distal surfaces, including
sulci.
Daily, the use of LyreJet® will ensure
that treated interproximal spaces remain
smooth and clean.
